Stacey is from Edinburgh UK and graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Communication Studies from University of Sheffield, UK. Prior to this, she also completed a Masters in Linguistic Studies from University of Glasgow, UK. 

Stacey is registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and a member of the Malaysian Association for Speech and Hearing in Malaysia (MASH). She is also a member of the Special Education Network & Inclusion Association (SENIA) Malaysia. Stacey has been working as a Speech Therapist in Kuala Lumpur since 2012.  

She worked with a diverse client group with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorders (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Down’s Syndrome (DS), Developmental Language Disorders (DLD), Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Speech Sound Disorders (SSD). And Fluency Disorders. 

She is trained in: 

  • PECS – Picture Exchange Communication System (Level 1).
  • Cued Articulation – hand to mouth gestures to elicit speech sounds and help with literacy skills.
  • Connect Therapy – developmental and relationship based therapy for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • TalkTools® – Oral Placement Therapy
  • Lidcombe Program for stuttering
  • Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) – Evidence-based treatment for Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)
  • Hanen Teacher Talk – providing educators with core strategies that will help them create rich and stimulating learning environments for the children they work with.
  • Lee Silvermann Voice Treatment®, a treatment which has been shown to be effective for children with Cerebral Palsy and Down syndrome.
  • British Sign Language (BSL) and American Sign Language (ASL)

Stacey loves working with children and she ensures that every therapy session is fun yet effective and maximizes the child’s full potential.  She emphasis the importance of involving caregivers throughout the intervention process and she is committed to using evidenced-based practice. Stacey continually strive to enhance her professional development, by undergoing frequent training programs.
